Horizen (ZEN) 5.0.5

The Zend v5.0.5 update is ready. All mainnet node owners needed to update to the current version before December 12, 2024, as Zend v.5.0.4 was deprecated at block number 1679880.

Zend v.5.0.5 will be active until block number 1730680, which is expected to be mined on March 11, 2025. The update fixes bugs and introduces minor changes to ensure the security and reliability of the network.

Cortex (CTXC) 1.10.61

The Cortex developers have released an update to version 1.10.61. It contains several stability and performance improvements:

• Improved database snapshots for better state management.
• Bug fixes to address issues with flaky tests and state destruction.
• Optimized chain events and header management for more efficient synchronization.
• New functions like DeleteRange and support for prestateTracer configuration parameters.

Ergo (ERG) 5.0.24

The Ergo network has also received an update. Software version 5.0.24 focuses on improving optimization and fixing critical bugs.

• Refactoring of Autolykos related code to improve efficiency.
• Fixes for API crashes and transaction mempool management issues.
• Improved support for upcoming Ergoscript changes after version 6.0 is activated.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) v28.0.0

Bitcoin Cash node update v.28.0.0 was released in preparation for the network upgrade on May 15, 2025. Here are the key changes:

• Implementation of CHIP-2021-05 for virtual machine constraints and CHIP-2024-07 for high-precision arithmetic.
• Improved p2p protocol with advanced timestamp handling and port mapping support.
• Enhanced Script VM capabilities, including support for 80,000-bit integers.

Clarification: support for 32-bit architecture has been discontinued due to much higher resource requirements.

Pyrin PYI Delisting from 2Miners

Unfortunately, Pyrin PYI cryptocurrency is no longer on the 2Miners mining pool. As of 10:00 Moscow time on December 20, 2024, the PYI PPLNS and PYI SOLO pools have been discontinued.

The decision was made after the Pyrin developers left the project, deleted all resources related to it and left the community without any help or support. We recommend that PYI users use the 2CryptoCalc calculator to find other profitable cryptocurrencies to mine.

Nervos Pool API Update (CKB)

Nervos CKB miners have access to advanced pool features. The 2Miners team has updated the API and statistics pages, allowing you to study the details of the hashrate and share. CKB pool members can also manually adjust the minimum threshold for payouts.

Bitcoin and Toncoin rewards for different pools

Bitcoin Gold (BTG) miners are in for a treat as they can now receive rewards in BTC or TON. All they have to do is enter their Bitcoin or TON wallet addresses and the pool will do the rest.

Please note that payouts may take up to three days to process due to BTG deposit restrictions on cryptocurrency exchanges.

Block reward reduction

In December, some coin networks experienced a reward reduction:

• Horizen (ZEN): reward decreased from 3.75 ZEN to 1.875 ZEN during halving.
• Kaspa (KAS): reward dropped from 77.78 KAS to 73.41 KAS.

Results of 2024 and wishes for 2025

2024 has brought a lot of good news for cryptocurrency enthusiasts. First of all, on December 5, Bitcoin reached the $100,000 level for the first time in its history. The rest of the cryptocurrency market is not far behind, making mining profitable again.
